Welcome to the website of Mr James Crinnion, Consultant General and Vascular Surgeon.

Mr Crinnion qualified from Leeds University Medical School in 1987 and trained in surgery in Leeds, Sheffield and London.

He was awarded the degree of Doctor of Medicine (MD) for a 2 year research project in Vascular Surgery and was appointed as a Consultant Vascular and General surgeon at Whipps Cross University Hospital, East London in 1999. Whipps Cross is a very busy district general hospital and has a national reputation for teaching and training surgeons. Since 2010, Mr Crinnion is also a consultant vascular surgeon at The Royal London Hospital where he performs elective and emergency complex vascular surgery.

Mr Crinnion has developed a large NHS practice specialising in general, vascular and endocrine surgery. He has a particular interest in major vascular surgery, thyroid and parathyroid operations and minimally invasive treatments for varicose veins. He is very experienced in endovenous laser treatment (EVLT) and has performed over 500 procedures.

Mr Crinnion has been Chairman of the Court of Examiners for Royal College of Surgeons (2010-2012) and Chairman of the North-East Thames Specialist Training Committee for General Surgery (2011-2014).
